Close and lock a period

Lock a month or VAT period so nothing changes after you've reported on it.

Locking a period stops anyone — including Flick AI — from adding or changing entries dated in it.

  1. Go to Books → Periods.
  2. Flick shows a checklist: bank reconciled, no draft bills, no unposted documents, VAT return filed.
  3. When everything is ticked, choose Lock period.

Only Owners and Accountants can lock or reopen a period. Reopening is recorded in the activity log.
