UAE e-invoicing: timeline and what it means for you

Who has to issue e-invoices in the UAE, and by when.

Updated

The UAE Ministry of Finance published the rules for the national e-invoicing system in Ministerial Decisions No. 243 and No. 244 of 2025.

Timeline

  • 1 July 2026 β€” pilot phase (by invitation) and voluntary adoption.
  • 1 January 2027 β€” mandatory for businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more.
  • 1 July 2027 β€” mandatory for businesses with revenue below AED 50 million.
  • 1 October 2027 β€” government entities.

Businesses must appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) to send e-invoices on their behalf, ahead of their deadline.

What this means for small businesses

If you run a smaller business, your deadline is 1 July 2027. You'll need to issue B2B and B2G invoices as e-invoices through an accredited provider, and be able to receive e-invoices from your suppliers.

How Flick Tools helps

Flick is an accredited Peppol Access Point. When you send an invoice from Bills, it goes out as a compliant e-invoice automatically β€” no separate system and no integration project.
