How Books works
Double-entry accounting that fills itself in from your invoices, bills and bank.
Updated
Books is a full double-entry ledger. You rarely type entries into it directly β it's filled from what happens elsewhere in Flick:
- A sent invoice posts revenue, VAT and a receivable.
- A posted bill posts the expense, input VAT and a payable.
- A reconciled bank transaction settles the receivable or payable.
Every entry balances β debits always equal credits β and links back to the document it came from.
What you'll use most
- Bank β reconcile transactions. See Bank feeds and reconciliation.
- Accounts β your chart of accounts and balances.
- Journals β manual entries for things like depreciation or accruals.
- Reports β profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and more.
